Hi, my name is Sue Simoncini. I am the Sewing Instructor for Columbus State University Continuing Education. I teach over 20 adult classes ranging from beginning to advanced techniques. I also teach many children's classes. I am also the Alterations Specialist at Daphne's Bridal and Designs here in Columbus. For over 25 years I utilized my formal background in Fashion Design to own and run a Bridal business in Florida, where I designed and made custom bridal gowns and costumes. I am also responsible for the design and sewing of over 250 costumes for the Columbus Ballet Nutcracker Performances. About ten years ago I rededicated my life to the art of teaching sewing. Sewing Certificate Program

C.S.U. offers a Certificate Program in Sewing for those who want to take their sewing to the next level. This program offers a wide range of sewing classes that will prepare you for a possible career in sewing, whether it be to start a business of your own doing alterations, custom sewing, or to learn the skills necessary for entrance into a Fashion Design school.
You may also want to earn a Certificate for your own personal accomplishments.

There will be a free Orientation meeting for those interested on Thursday August 22 at 6:30. There is no charge for this class.
If you have taken any of my sewing classes already, those hours may be applied to you totals.

NOTE: The Sewing Certificate Requirements have been newly revised as of 6/2013

CORE CLASSES: (complete all of the following)
       * READY, SET, SEW (12)
          * SEW MUCH MORE (12)
          * SEWING WITH A PRO (12) (12) (12) (must be taken three times)
          * SEWING WITH STRETCH KNIT FABRICS (12)
          * GETTING A FABULOUS FIT BY:  (Must complete entire series) )
                   1. FINDING YOUR PERSONAL STYLE (9)
                   2. ALTERING READY-TO-WEAR CLOTHES (12)
                   3. CREATING A GREAT FITTING PATTERN (12)
          * SEWING A BASIC JACKET (12)
 
ELECTIVES: May be subject to change
