Alterations/ Patterns Class

Alterations and Pattern Making

This class will be offered at a future dat. Keep watching!

Prerequisites: Ready, Set, Sew
                   Sew Much More
                   Sewing Like A Pro

This is not a beginner class

This class is divided into two parts: 1.  Learning how to alter Ready-made clothes.
and 2.  How to alter patterns to better fit you.

In the first part of class you will learn how to alter Ready-Made clothes. I guarantee you will save money by taking this class (because you will be able to do your own alterations from now on and don't have to pay someone else to do it) Smart...huh???Learn to hem, take clothes in, etc

In the second part of class you learn how to alter patterns to fit your own body variations. Understanding this will help you make better fitting garmants.

You will also be making a "sloper" . A sloper is a body-double in fabric.
By making this, you can compare it to retail patterns to make them fit better and you can use it to design your own. I show you how.

Materials

You will need your sewing machine, however, if you prefer to use a machine from CSU, you can. It is recommended that you also bring a package of SCHMEDTZ NEEDLES -Universal or Denim- size 16.

Week 1.- you only need to bring your machine and basic sewing supplies. I will provide you with the rest of what you need.

Week 2- you are encouraged to bring in your own garments that need altering so you can learn what YOU need. We will discuss this during your first class.

Week 3.-you will also need 5 yards of 45" or wider muslin to make your sloper.
